Queen's Birthday Flypast

16 June 2012 (Updated 21 July 2012)

A Sentry crewed by No. 8 Squadron personnel took part in today's Queen's Birthday Flypast over Buckingham Palace.  The Sentry, accompanied by two Tornado GR4's from RAF Marham, was positioned 2 miles behind the VC10/Typhoon formation and 2 miles in front of the brand new Voyager Tanker/Transport aircraft.  The windy conditions not only made it a bumpy ride but also meant the Battle of Britain Flight could not take part.  The following photos were taken today during the flypast formation, over the North Sea, and throughout the flight culminating at RAF Brize Norton.
