Squadron Charity

Each year thousands of pounds are donated to local and national charities.  This is raised by a number of means; most of the fund raising events involve feats of physical hardship by groups or individual Squadron members, also, collectively the Squadron raises funds through coffee mornings and the Fantasy Football Tote.  Even the artistic talent of one Squadron member has raised thousands of pounds for good causes.  No. 8 Squadron over the last 2 years has been the section at RAF Waddington that has raised the most for charity; as a result we have received an additional £100 from the station to donate to the charity of our choice.

No. 8 Squadron’s primary charity is St Francis Community Special School in Lincoln, a day school with residential facilities for young people with physical and/or medical disabilities.  Having supported this charity for 5 years, the Squadron donates around £500 a year from its funds.  The table below details most of the fundraising activities conducted by the Squadron and individual members.
